Glimepiride
• Glim 2 mg contains Glimepiride which is an orally active blood sugar-lowering drug.
• Glim belongs to a blood sugar lowering group of medicines called sulfonylureas.
• Glimepiride in Glim tablets works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas and then lowering the insulin levels in the blood sugar.

• Glim Tablets are used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, physical exercise, and weight reduction alone have not been able to control your blood sugar levels.

How To Use:
• Take Glim tablets by mouth just before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast).
• If you do not have breakfast you should take the product on schedule as prescribed by your doctor. It is important not to leave out any meal when you are on Glimepiride Tablets.
• The dose of Glim Tablets depends on your needs, condition, and results of blood and urine sugar tests and is determined by your doctor, Do not take more tablets than your doctor has prescribed.

Side Effects:
• Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop:
Rash, hives, itching, red, swollen, blistered, peeling skin, wheezing, tightness in the chest or throat, trouble breathing, talking, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Serious side effects: Allergic reactions, Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia), Liver problems

Contraindications:
• Do not take Glim Tablets and tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic (hypersensitive) to Glimepiride or other sulfonylureas or sulfonamides or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- You have insulin-dependent diabetes (type 1 diabetes mellitus).
- You have diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes when your acid level is raised in your body and you may have some signs: fatigue, feeling sick, frequent urination, and muscular stiffness).
- You are in a diabetic coma.
-You have severe kidney disease.
- You have severe liver disease.

Cautions:
• Following factors could increase the risk of you getting hypoglycemia:
- Undernourishment, irregular meal time, missed or delayed meal, or period of fasting
- Taking more Glim tablets than needed.
- If you suffer from particular hormone-induced disorders (disorders of the thyroid glands, the pituitary gland, or adrenal cortex).
- If you increase the amount of exercise you do and you don’t eat enough food or eat food containing less carbohydrate than usual.
• Signs of hypoglycemia include:
- Hunger pangs, headache, nausea, vomiting, sluggishness, sleepiness, problems sleeping, restlessness, aggression, problems with concentration, reduced alertness and reaction time, and depression.

Drugs Interactions:
• The following medicines can increase the blood sugar-lowering effect of Glim tablets:
Medicines to treat pain and inflammation, Medicines to inhibit blood clotting and antiarrhythmic agents.
Medicines lowering high cholesterol levels, ACE inhibitors, fluoxetine, MAO inhibitors, Antibacterial and Anti-fungal medicine, and long-acting sulfonamides.
• The following medicines may decrease the blood sugar lowering effect of Glim Tablets:
Medicines containing female sex hormones, thiazide diuretics, Medicines used to stimulate the thyroid gland, and glucocorticoids.
Medicines are used to raise heartbeat, treat asthma or nasal congestion, coughs and colds, laxatives, and rifampicin.
