I-Profen is a suspension used to relieve mild and moderate pain and to reduce fever in children.
This suspension contains Ibuprofen, an active substance that works to works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body that contribute to pain and inflammation.
I-Profen tablets provide relief from a range of pain conditions, including headaches, menstrual cramps, back pain, toothaches, and acute or chronic joint pain.
Ibuprofen can be used safely for children after reaching 6 months, and the dose is calculated according to weight.

How to use I-Profen Suspension:
- Always take I-Profen Suspension exactly as your doctor has told you
- Your doctor may choose to increase or decrease this depending on what you are being treated for
- Adults and children over 12 years: The recommended dosage is 4 to 6 spoonfuls (5 ml) taken three times a day.
Children: I-Profen Suspension should NOT be taken by children weighing less than 7 kg.
The usual dose in children is 20 mg per kg of body weight each day, in divided doses. This can be given as follows:
• 1-2 years: One 2.5 ml (50 mg) dose three/four times a day.
• 3-7 years: One 5 ml (100 mg) dose three/four times a day.
• 8-12 years: Two 5 ml (200 mg) doses three/four times a day.
• The doctor may choose to increase this dose in children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
This dose should not exceed 40mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses.

Warnings and precautions:
• When used to treat fever, the suspension should not be used long-term or given to children under the age of 1 year.
• This medicine is contraindicated for individuals with a known allergy to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
• Ibuprofen is not recommended for patients with asthma
•It is not recommended for patients with active peptic ulcers or a history of peptic ulcers
• Ibuprofen is not recommended for people with heart disease.
• Pregnant women should consult with their healthcare provider before using ibuprofen, especially after the 30th week of pregnancy
• Keep out of reach of children.

• Side effects:
- Brufen, within the recommended dose, usually does not cause side effects, but in some people it may cause:
• Nausea.
• Diarrhea.
• Ulcer.
• Vertigo.

• Other medicines and Ibuprofen:
- Do not take Ibuprofen with another non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (Diclofenac Sodium), as it may cause stomach bleeding.
