• Dilanyl syrup contains Terbutaline which belongs to a class of drugs known as bronchodilators.
• It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily.
Dilanyl syrup uses:
Dilanyl Syrup is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions, and symptoms:
• Wheezing
• Shortness of breath and chest tightness caused by asthma.
• Chronic bronchitis.
• Emphysema.
How To use dilanyl syrup uses:
• Usually 3 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.
Active Ingredients:
Terbutaline
Dilanyl syrup side effects:
• Nervousness.
• Shaking (tremor).
• Dizziness.
• Drowsiness or headache may occur.
Caution:
• If you are allergic to it; or to similar bronchodilators (e.g., albuterol, metaproterenol, salmeterol).
• If you have a medical history, especially of: heart disease (e.g., abnormal heartbeat, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure), seizures, overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), diabetes, low blood potassium level (hypokalemia).
• This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy.
Interactions:
• Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors or Tricyclic Antidepressants: Terbutaline should be administered with extreme caution to patients being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants or within 2 weeks of discontinuation of such agent.
• Beta-Blockers: therefore, patients with asthma should not normally be treated with beta-blockers.
• Diuretics.
